HAHN FAMILY HISTORY
Johann “Georg” Hahn (1819-1889) was born in Gersdorf, Kirchheim, Hersfeld, Hesse-Nassau, Prussia Germany. He emigrated from Bremen to New York City in 1839. He left the United States and traveled to Wellesley Township where he applied for 100 acres of Crown Land – Lot 6 Concession VI, Eastern Section.
In 1849 he married Elizabeth Herber (1830-1918). The couple designated a piece of their property on Hessen Road for a log church and cemetery. Known as the "Hahn Church," it burned down in 1870 and was rebuilt across the road on land belonging to Katherine Reichart – now St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church near Bamberg.

HERBER FAMILY HISTORY
Elizabeth Herber (1830-1918) was born in Schweinsberg Kirchhain, Hesse-Nassau, Prussia, Germany. She came to Canada as a two year old with her family - Heinrich Jacob Herber and Catherina Nicolai and her brother, William. The family settled in Wilmot Township on what is now 1195 Erb’s Road, St. Agatha.
In 1849 Elizabeth married George Hahn and settled on Lot 6 Concession VI, Eastern Section.

CUNNINGHAM FAMILY HISTORY
William C. Cunningham (1800-1881) was born in Ireland. He immigrated to West Gwillimbury, near Bond Head, now in the Regional Municipality of York. There he married Altha Eliza Lewis (1809-1883) in 1829.
The family appears in the 1851, 1871 and 1881 censuses of Wellesley Township. On the 1861 Tremaine map, they are shown on Lot 7, Concession 11 west of Hawkesville. He later owned land in Linwood.
Lisa Boos has been researching The Cunningham / Stone families for about 15 years. She would like to share her information with you and has agreed to have her work posted here on our site. She would like to find someone who has information to share. She has also been researching the Landerkin and Bulmer families for about 15 years.

STONE FAMILY HISTORY
Solomon Stone was born in Vermont in 1790 and died in Bond Head, ON in 1867. He emigrated to Upper Canada from Vermont probably as early as 1823 and appears in an 1837 directory on Lot 4, Concession 5 West Gwillimbury Township, Ontario.
He married (1) Esther (1784-1830) in 1815 and (2) Mary Winn (1807-1882) in 1837 in West Gwillimbury, Ontario. She was the daughter of Joshua Winn, a Quaker.
Solomon's son, Abijah and his family appear in Hawkesville, Wellesley Township in the 1861 census, having moved there with other families after the Upper Canada Rebellion of 1837. Abijah married Mary Landerkin and in 1861 they had 7 children aged 10 months to 17 years.
