S. S. #6 - Kelly's School

First school built in 1859 on what was then the Kelly farm (Lot 10, Concession 4, WS).  It was a one-storey  stone structure with no basement, heated by a large wood stove. Attendance was 50-60 students. Mr. Whaley was the first teacher.

In 1891 a new white brick school was built. The stone of the old school was used for the basement of the new school.

In 1932 a strip of land was purchased from Mr. J. Erb on the SW side of the school grounds to make it larger.

In 1948 the  South Wellesley School Area was formed. S. S. #6 was part of this school area, but in 1956 it broke away and began to operate as a separate section.  In December 1964 the ratepayers of S. S. #6 petitioned to become part of the Wellesley Township Board. The request was not granted and the school section ceased to exist. However students continued to be taught there until the end of the school year in 1965.

Amalgamation began in September 1965 and students from S.S. #6 were transferred to nearby schools until the new school was opened in Wellesley in January 1966.

In 1967 the members of Cedar Grove Amish Church bought the building and it became a parochial school named Cedar Grove Christian School 32.
