Children in this area originally attended school in Crosshill or the Fifth Line School. In 1867 land for the school was purchased from John McCullogh. The first school was a frame building located on Lot 6, concession 6, western section. By 1872 there were 59 pupils. The teacher’s salary was $300.
In 1901 the school was repaired and a basement was added. The Wellesley Township School Area was formed in 1964 and in 1965, this school closed and the students were bused to a new school in Linwood. The building now serves as a private residence
