Notes:
- Worked in furniture factories in the early part of his life, then worked at the Red and White store at St Clements. Was one of the original players in the North Waterloo rural softball league, one of the oldest in the province.
- 1942-1945 joined the army. Just before he was to go overseas, he was injured and was sent to Yorkie Island near Vancouver, as a Morse code operator. Became a corporal.
- "was a hockey player Eind coach for some 50 years. He coached championship teams in 1964, 1980 and 1982” (WHS1984 72:111). "In the early 1940s, one of his women’s teams, the St. Clements Lucky Strikes, fell behind 7-0 in
- the championship game, and Lobsinger rallied the players in the last inning to win the game 8-7" (obituary Elmira Independent 28/7/1987: score given as 10-9 in Elmira Independent 29/6/1982) "He believed that, even at age 9, all the players should know all the rules, and he made sure we did. And he never complained when we lost. He was a gentleman that way. He accepted the breaks of the game after it was over. While it was still going, he never gave up" (obituary Elmira Independent)
- 1967-recipient of the Wellesley Township Centennial Medal
- Was asked to run for office as a township councillor as he knew many people from the store and was available to listen to people. At the first few meetings he asked a lot of questions. Many of the township conflicts were over contracts, and which areas were going to be developed. Accomplishments of the township council included building an arena in St Clements and increasing sports facilities. As deputy reeve, he served on the county council where the question of regional government was under debate. Mr Lobsinger had mixed emotions about regionalization then, and continued to feel that way. He felt that smaller places got a better deal with services such as water and garbage collection, but resented the high salaries regional officials were paid. The regionalization of the police force was a mixed blessing, as there were plenty of complaints about it.
- 1979- "honoured by the people of St Clements for his contributions to sports. The event included a banquet and a roast, and his portrait was hung in the community centre. He is the only resident of the village ever to be honoured in that manner" (obituary Elmira Independent 28/7/1987)
