Idella

Philipsburg - An extraordinary and
very sudden fatality occurred on Saturday afternoon, April 4th, when Idella,
the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Eidt, was on her any home from the
village store. She was accompanied by one of her cousins, and had in her mouth a
small wooden tube with a rubber attachment which accidently lodged in her
larynx, and before assistance arrived, life was extinct. Idella was of a
cheerful disposition and will be greatly
missed by her school mates and friends. She
was eleven years old, less ten days, and a gloom is cast over the whole
community by such an untimely death. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon
at 2 o'clock p.m. from her late residence to Oelzel's [?]cemetery.

(nee Tschirhardt)

Linwood - The white winged messenger, death, last Thursday
morning again visited our locality, and claimed as his own, Mrs. Jacob Eisenmenger
[?]. The funeral on Saturday to St. Clements R. C. cemetery was largely
attended by her friends and neighbors. Mrs. Eisanmenger was a loving mother and
faithful wife and she will be much missed by her loved ones. One by one the
pioneers are
passing away, the township of Wellesley being a howling wilderness when she came
in with her husband [illegible] little family of children. Much sympathy is felt
for the bereaved family in their affliction. Only last Thursday her son, Jacob
was buried. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the family.
